The Finance Department is charged with maintaining the financial and
accounting system of the City in a manner consistent with the highest
professional standards and in accordance with legal requirements and
generally accepted accounting principles.
Additionally, the Finance
Department provides the City Council and City Departments with timely
decision-support financial information. Safeguarding the City’s assets is
another key function of the Finance Department. This department also
coordinates the preparation of the budget and monitors performance
