The City’s End of Summer Splash at Mercado Park offers something for everyone.
Movie buffs get the chance to take in the film “Annie,” the story of a young girl seeking a family to adopt her.
An assortment of food trucks offers a variety of good eating—yogurt, cupcakes, Cajun gourmet Mexican, Chinese and a rolling sushi van.
The City’s Youth Advisory Committee is inviting Perris kids to test themselves against an obstacle course set up for the evening.
And the park’s signature feature, its water sprinklers, will be turned on for the evening after being shut down most of the summer to save water during the state’s critical drought.
The Sept. 18 splash also features raffles, prizes, music and a kids’ playground. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. and the movie begins at sunset. Mercado Park is located at 925 South D Street.
“It’s going to be beautiful night,” said Perris Recreation Coordinator Rachel Pinedo. “The Summer Splash means fun. There’s activities for the kids and it gives people the chance to keep busy, keep active and eat some good food.”
