Students Receive Hispanic Association of Small Business Scholarships

Perris Mayor Daryl Busch (second from right) and Armando Hurtado, president of the Hispanic Association of Small Businesses, stand with winners of $500 college scholarships in a contest sponsored by the business group. The contest winners include Wendy Romero, Rancho Verde High School; Angel Carrillo, Perris High School; Fredi Resendiz Ugalde, Heritage High School and Devora Crystal Siquin, Citrus Hill High School. Contest winners had to maintain a 3.5-grade point average, perform voluntary community service and submit an essay. The winners were recognized at the beginning of the June 14 City Council meeting.
