Perris Has an Opening on the Planning Commission

The City of Perris is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on its Planning Commission.

Each Planning Commissioner must be a registered voter in Perris at the time of his or her appointment and is required to remain registered during his or her term in office.

The Planning Commission plays important advisory, regulatory and procedural roles in land use decisions for the City of Perris.

The Commission is responsible for the review of issues related to community growth and development and approval of land development requests such as Development Plan Reviews, Conditional Use Permits and Major Modifications.

The Commission administers land use regulations and provides the City Council with recommendations on matters relating to the implementation of the City General Plan, zoning, subdivision and municipal policies.

The term for the current seat expires in December 2019.

Completed applications to finish out the current vacancy must be submitted to the Office of Human Resources at City Hall by Thursday, August 24, 2017 before 6 p.m.

The Planning Commission consists of seven members appointed by the City Council for a term of four years each. Commissioners receive a $100 stipend for each meeting they attend, not to exceed a total of $200 per month. The Commission meets on the  first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Perris City Council Chambers.  For more information on these vacancies, please contact the Office of Human Resources at (951) 943-6100.
