The City of Perris will host its first “Public Service Day” May 11 at the City Hall Campus.
The event is to celebrate Building and Safety Month and Public Works Awareness Week, said Counter Services Supervisor Veronica Arana.
It’s also a chance for the public to meet and greet representatives from numerous municipal departments—police and fire, animal control code enforcement, the housing authority and of course public works and building and safety.
In addition, Perris partners including CR&R waste haulers and Eastern Municipal Water District also will be on hand. Representatives from Wells Fargo and BBVA Bancomer will attend and provide information about construction-loan financing to interested residents.
“It’s an opportunity for Perris residents to learn what we do and how we assist the people who live in the City,” Arana said.
Public Service Day takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at City Hall, 101 North D Street. Raffles and giveaways will take place throughout the course of the event. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. a children’s workshop will take place, allowing youngsters to complete a building project from a kit, like a car or a birdhouse.
