Proclamation Issued in Support of Mental Health Awareness Month

Perris Mayor Pro-Tem Malcolm Corona, City Councilwoman Tonya Burke, Mayor Michael Vargas and City Councilman David Starr Rabb issued a Proclamation in support of Mental Health Month. Accepting the Proclamation was April Jones, who serves on the Riverside County Behavioral Health Commission. California recognizes Mental Health Awareness Month every May.

The Perris City Council on April 24 issued a Proclamation in support of Mental Health Awareness Month. About 12 million Americans are affected with mental-health challenges including depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia—conditions that can stigmatize those victims and discourage them from getting necessary and available help.

The City Council presented the Proclamation to April Jones, a member of the Riverside County Behavioral Health Commission.
