Perris Police Department Looking for Volunteers

The Perris Police Department will hold a volunteer recruitment event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Perris Plaza shopping center, 1688 N Perris Blvd.

Perris Police Officer Donnis Crawford said the department is looking to add about 20 new volunteers to perform a variety of duties. Those include clerical support, transporting police vehicles to and from routine maintenance appointments, working traffic safety checkpoints and City events like parades and driving Perris streets as “citizens on patrol.”

“Volunteers are the extended arm of the police department,” Crawford said. “They are our eyes and ears and they do a great job. That’s why we would like to add more.”

Crawford said the department will by hosting a booth near the Food 4 Less store. Information about volunteer positions and requirements will be available.
