PERRIS, Calif. (October 24, 2019) –– In the second installment of the “Let’s take a Hike” series, the City of Perris hosted a hike at Kabian Park on Saturday, Oct 19, 2019.
More than 50 residents attended the 3-mile round trip hike from Kabian Park to Canyon Lake, navigating terrain that included hills, rocks, dirt and mud, and even a few dust storms along the way.
Perris Mayor Pro Tem Marisela Magaña attended the hike and talked about the need to stay active and stay healthy.
“Staying active is one of the best ways to keep our bodies healthy, improve our overall well-being and improve quality of life,” said Magaña. “Plus, workouts are more enjoyable and motivational as a group.”
Perris Council Member Malcolm Corona also attended the hike and echoed sentiments of motivational group workouts.
“This was a great turnout. Probably one of our largest,” said Corona. “And that’s a good thing because we get to meet new people and lean on each other for support on a tough hike.”
In addition to the hike, participants were also entered into the raffle prize drawing, where prizes such as new bicycles, helmets and walking sticks were raffled off.
The third and final installment of the “Let’s Take a Hike” series will be held on November 16, 2019 at Bernasconi Camp beginning at 7:30 AM. For more information contact the community services department at 951-943-6100.
