PERRIS, Calif. (November 20, 2019) –– The final installment of the “Let’s Take a Hike” series was held by the City of Perris at Bernasconi Camp, Lake Perris State Recreational Park, on Saturday, Nov 16, 2019.
More than 50 residents attended the three-mile round trip hike at Bernasconi Camp, navigating terrain that included hills, rocks, dirt and mud, with a beach front view along the way.
Perris Mayor Michael M. Vargas attended the hike to support residents and emphasized the need to stay active and stay healthy.
"We are excited to do these hikes for our community on such a beautiful morning," Vargas said. "We hope that in the future we can continue these and expand them to new areas."
Following the sight-seeing hike, participants were also entered into the raffle prize drawing, where prizes included hiking gear, helmets, and brand-new bicycles.
“Let’s Take a Hike” will resume February 2020 with hikes on the Lake Perris State Recreation beach, through the beautiful rocky hills of Kabian Park, and the 800-foot climb to Terri Peak. For more information contact the Community Services Department at 951-943-6100.
