The Information Technology Department for the City of Perris plays a pivotal role in shaping the city's digital landscape, supporting the community, and ensuring a technologically empowered future for all residents and stakeholders.

Our Functions:

1. Information Technology Services: Without the network infrastructure and aid from the Information Technology (IT) Department, most City services would be rendered useless. IT operates the essential function of maintaining software, hardware, network, and security devices; as well as, providing user support for over 200 City Staff across multiple sites. Through this maintenance and support, IT works to safeguard and uphold the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of all City data.
   
   
2. Digital Media and Communications: Our Digital Media division is responsible for shaping the city's online presence. From managing the official website and engaging with the community through social media platforms to producing impactful videos that highlight city initiatives, this division fosters a dynamic and engaging connection between Perris and its residents.
   
   

3. Geographic Information Systems (GIS): The GIS division plays a crucial role in mapping and spatial analysis for informed decision-making. Through cutting-edge geographic technology, this division provides accurate and up-to-date spatial data that aids various city departments in urban planning, emergency response, and resource allocation.

Our Mission: The IT Department strives to provide value, and empower everyone we serve through effective communication and innovative, cutting-edge technology.

Strategic Plan: Strategic Planning is the opportunity for policy makers to define which policies, programs, projects and issues are the IT Department's highest priorities during the coming year and what priorities the staff should be focusing on over and above normal operations of the Department. It is oneof the most important activities in which city leaders engage each year. 

The purpose of the strategic plan is to provide the IT Department with a guiding document, settling priorities for the next three years. It considers the cities needs, while balancing available resources, and utilizing best practices to deliver services.
