The City of Perris’ video production department won 2 Awards from the American Advertising Federation in 2018.

• Gold "Addy" in the Public Service Online Film, Video, and Sound category for "Perris: City of Excitement"
• Silver "Addy" for the Public Service Campaign for Live Well Perris/Community Garden.

The City of Perris’ website, used to assist residents in paying utility bills, reporting code violations and keeping abreast of the latest community developments, took first-prize in a regional competition of municipal websites.

• Governmental Media Outlet of the Year for 2014-15 by the American Advertising Federation

The City of Perris has garnered many years of Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awards for achieving the “highest standards in government accounting.”

Live Well Perris is the City’s healthy living initiative, a comprehensive program of healthy eating and physical fitness challenges described as educational, interactive, fun and potentially life-changing. See the Live Well Perris website.

Live Well Perris has won the following awards and honors:

• 2014 Helen Putnam Award
• Western Cities Magazine – The City of Perris’ Live Well program has made the cover of Western Cities Magazine, a statewide publication that reaches hundreds of municipalities. The magazine features a front-page picture of residents working out on a Saturday morning. A four-page article inside the magazine reveals details about how the Live Well program took shape, its popularity with residents seeking to exercise and eat healthy and how it has improved the lives of many people who call Perris home.

The City built a grant-funded $3.4 million park in an underserved area, creating an oasis that includes tot lots, a water-play area and an amphitheatre. The park is also located near a recently constructed apartment complex which is home to many families of modest means.

• California Parks & Recreation Society — Excellence in Design–Park Planning

The City of Perris worked in collaboration with several other agencies to bring a state-of-the-art sewer system to the disadvantaged community of Enchanted Heights, replacing 446-aging and leaking septic tanks. Especially effective was the City's multi-lingual outreach campaign that educated and won the cooperation of Enchanted Heights residents. See the Enchanted Heights project website.

The City of Perris collected winter clothing which Church congregation members distributed to hundreds of underprivileged residents in Perris. The City also contributed to the Church's toy drive and food collection.

• 2013 Compassion Church Compassion Award

The City worked with the State Perris Recreation Area and the Lake Perris Fairgrounds to start construction of a home during the 2012 Southern California Fair. When the residence was nearly completed, the home was moved to its permanent location where more than a dozen City employees completed the final stages before occupancy.

• Habitat for Humanity — Award of Appreciation

The City restored both the façade and interior of the 1930's-era movie theater and repurposed it for community events.

• American Planning Association — Landmark Award

The City refurbished the circa 1892 depot building to house the Perris Valley museum.

• Old Riverside Foundation — Restoration and Craftsmanship

The City of Perris partnered with Honeywell, creating a public-private partnership that built new solar-panel covered carports at five locations in Perris: City Hall, the library, fire station, senior center and corporate yard. The new carports provided 240 spaces of shaded parking for city residents and staff and will save the City nearly $2 million over the 20-year agreement with Honeywell, enough to cover the costs of the upgrades.
