Visible Trash Receptacles/Recycling Containers

Visible Trash Receptacles(Perris Municipal Code Chapter 7.16)
Trash receptacles and/or recycling containers cannot be stored on your property visible from street. In addition, trash receptacles and/or recycling containers cannot be stored on the public right-of-way. Trash receptacles and/or recycling containers shall be placed on curb or alley no earlier than twelve hours prior to collection. Such receptacle and/or recycling containers must be removed from curb or alley within 24 hours after collection.


Holding Yard Sales without a City Permit

Yard Sale(Perris Municipal Code Chapter 5.32)
It is unlawful to organize, conduct, establish or operate a sale, as enumerated in this chapter, in the city without first obtaining a permit. A fee of $7.00 per sale, or $15.00 prepaid for all 3 permits to be used before 12/31 of that year, shall be charged for each permit issued under this chapter, except charitable, religious, civic and fraternal organizations shall be exempt from the fee. Sales shall not exceed three in any calendar year at the same location nor shall any sale be held during the week; only Friday-Sunday sales shall be permitted. No advertising signs shall be permitted on the public right-of-way.


Inadequate Property Maintenance

Inadequate Property Maintenance(Perris Municipal Code Chapter 7.06)
Prohibits the following acts and conditions when conducted or existing upon any lot or parcel within the city are unlawful and shall constitute a public nuisance: Open storage of or scattered materials including the following:

  1. Debris, rubbish or trash not stored in trash receptacles and visible from public right-of-way, and scattered packing boxes
  2. Abandoned, discarded, broken, or inoperable household furnishings, appliances, machines and tools, or similar objects of equipment.
  3. Discarded building materials.
  4. Broken or shattered windows.
  5. Open/Accessible structures allowing intrusion.

Inadequate Landscape Maintenance

Yard Sales(Perris Municipal Code Chapter 7.42)
It is unlawful for any owner and/or occupant of any property to allow the vegetation in the front yard and all other areas that are visible from the street to die, become overgrown or be altogether missing. This includes roadside, parkways, easements, all edges and property line borders.


Peddlers and Solicitors Selling without a License

Peddlers and Solicitors Selling without a License(Perris Municipal Code Chapter 5.06)
No person, whether or not a resident of the city shall engage in the city in the business of peddler or solicitor without first obtaining a license from the City of Perris. It is unlawful for any peddler or solicitor, delivering or offering for sale, any goods, wares, food, merchandise or other products from any vehicle or conveyance within or upon any public street alley, parkway, sidewalk, or other public or private property to: Permit any, or other conveyance from which products are sold to remain standing or stopped for soliciting purposes at any place on any public street.


Construction without a Permit

A written construction permit shall be obtained from the enforcing agency prior to the erection, construction, reconstruction, installation, moving or alteration of any building or structure. A permit and a building inspection on the erection, construction, reconstruction, installation, moving or alteration of your property. If the erection, construction, reconstruction, installation, moving or alteration of your property is found to be unsafe or unsound you will need to obtain a demolition permit to remove the alteration to your property.
